The Dark Side Of Anxiety

Updated: Jun 20, 2021

Have you been struggling with school work or daily problems sometimes? Well, facing problems in a daily life is a natural thing and a part of our learning journey. However, a very common thing that all of us may have been having since the past one year is anxiety disorders, as the pandemic has restricted our interactions with the others.

Some people can’t tell whether they are having anxiety disorders. Some symptoms are sleep problems, dizziness, dry mouth, shortness of breath, etc. A common cause of anxiety disorder is environmental stress, such as childhood abuse, etc. However, medical conditions such as the lungs and heart, may also cause anxiety disorders. Therefore, you should get a full physical exam to rule out other medical conditions when talking to your doctor about anxiety.

Having anxiety disorders can affect not only your physical health but also your mental health. Often, you will have sleeping difficulty and thus not getting enough rest, ruining your physical health. In worse case, it often causes stress and may lead to depression.

There are many ways to overcome anxiety disorder. One of them is eating a well balanced diet. Eating the right food is important for a healthy body and mind. In addition, getting enough sleep not only repairs certain body parts in your body such as blood cells, but also allows you to get the energy that you need and calm yourselves down. Furthermore, if you are looking to treat anxiety disorders, you can try taking psychotherapy, a therapy where you can talk with a therapist to reduce or overcome anxiety disorders.

Don't panic, you will be fine!
